The UK government has updated its guidance on the use of the UKCA mark. From 1 January 2021, exporters will be able to use the UKCA mark for products shipped to the United Kingdom (= England, Wales and Scotland). Until 2023-01-01 it is still possible to use the CE mark in most cases. For deliveries to Northern Ireland, different rules apply in some cases (see below).

For Northern Ireland, there are also new guidelines since 2020-10-30, which are related to the "Northern Ireland Protocol". These guidelines stipulate that for some products, in addition to the CE mark, another conformity mark, the so-called UKNI mark, is used. This additional mark is required when a notified body based in the United Kingdom is involved in the conformity assessment procedure.
